Did you know that Human Development peaked in mid-April of 1970?
Yep.
We can walk up to a calendar and point to the very moment in time that Mankind reached his ultimate creative zenith, and momentary triumph over Natural Law.
April 13 through 17, 1970.
I am a student of all things unimportant, yet somehow this "trivial" date seems to elude those whom are foolish enough to think that Humanity is all that and a bag of chips. Humans are de-evolving at a rapid pace. Don't believe me? Look around. Don't see it? Then you are part of it.
If you nerded out like I did and read page after page, book after book, volume after volume, and lived in libraries gathering information on things most people SHOULD be somewhat interested in, you might have crossed paths with a paragraph or two describing the massive intellect that went into the conceptualization, creation, and full realization of the US's Apollo Program; the end all being to send men to the Moon and returning them safely back to Earth.
If you did, you would realize the epic mindpower that went into this Program - any three random people involved in any portion of this Program would have an intellect that would shame Elon Musk into opening a lemonade stand. This was all done analog. Yes, computers stored information for retrieval, but all the "messy bits" were calculated using brainpower, slide rules, and common sense. There was no dependency upon computer software like today when people can't even back out of their garages, drive to the grocery store to buy frozen orange juice and a dozen eggs without using 200gigs of computery GPS rigamarole with 3 satellites, $10,000 worth of computer chips in their vehicle and a $1000 cellphone used to replace a sheet of note paper with "orange juice" and "dozen eggs" written on it.
People today are stupid. Plain and simple.
Life has been made too easy...but has it really? If you look at it right, you will notice that "convenience" is actually "lazy", and "tech" is actually "brain death". You don't think we are over reliant upon our devices? Okay. Walk up to anyone under the age of 70 and ask them if they have the time - I guarantee you they pull out a phone to check. Ask them if they know what today's date is. Guaranteed same thing. Your Phone Brain awaits. Or you can ask Siri or Alexa or whatever condescending little AI twit you have given all your privileged information over to.
So why 4/13 - 4/17 1970?
Well, these smart as hell mofos at NASA calculated every single breath the Astronauts would require, calculated what time to leave, what time to clear the atmosphere, how to get there, land, complete the mission and fly back to Earth. You should SEE what an Apollo Mission Manual from 1970 looks like! Trust me - you would NOT want to drop THAT much minutiae on your foot. I will give you a hint - you'll need at least a half-dozen 53' Fruehauf trailers.
Well, on Apollo 13 there was a malfunction in an oxygen tank that caused an explosion. That explosion crippled the spacecraft, and cost NASA and the Astronauts the Moon Landing. However, because the event was so wacked out random, even the brilliant minds at NASA hadn't a contingency plan to put into effect. What these incredible people did was to scrap all the fastidious work they had been doing and gathering since the days of Project Mercury and created a new mission profile on the fly. Basically, what these people did would be impossible today because they did what Artificial Intelligence cannot do - that is think outside the box.
So yes, the Apollo 13 Mission was the most successful failure in human history, which in looking back makes it the single greatest intellectual coup Humanity has ever pulled off.
And pull it off they did. Wow.
Do you remember one of the main themes of Star Trek? Not PicardTrek, but Star Trek? It was the continual back and forth between the logical Spock and computers versus the illogical Kirk, Bones and the rest of us illogical yet fascinating Humans. Spock was half-human...if he were full Vulcan either he or everybody else would have to go. Lol! It would be insufferable!
I guess what I am saying is, "Engage Your Brain. Do Mental Gymnastics. Read A Book."

It is very difficult typing on this little tiny box. It is difficult to peruse all that has been written because my big, crooked, broken, workingman fingers make lots of mistakes, and I do not - nor will I ever! - utilize spellcheck or predictive text, talk-to-text, or brain-implant-to-text features.
But I do have to cut this short - an app just told me it is time for me to go take a poop. 😉

So, I have been seeing a lot of articles and promotions for Hydrogen powered vehicles lately. I am all for the idea of "green" power as opposed to fossil fuel engines. These hydrogen powered vehicles are said to emit only water vapor through the exhaust which has me wondering. Will this be in the form of steam or will we need to modify our road driving strategies during freezing temps? What do you think?
